[KOCOWEEK] Sharing Diverse Aspects of Korean Culture with the World!

KOREA CONTENTS WEEK, a major festival of contents to share Korean culture

KOREA CONTENTS WEEK will be opening the doors
to your heart to share the diverse beauty of Korea,
beyond the world-famous K-POP, K-drama, and K-movies.

With a goal to bring some joy and comfort
to everyone’s lives with Korean culture,
KOREA CONTENTS WEEK has continuously released
new online contents to share Korean culture with the world.

To introduce Korean food, fashion, art, and
many more aspects of Korean culture in a friendlier and fun way,
the Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS) has organized
KOREA CONTENTS WEEK under four concepts.

The four concepts are <Feel; KOREA CONTENTS>, <Meet; Overseas KCC Festival>,
<Introduce; K-Heritage>, and <Participate; KOCOWEEK EVENT>,
which features various events and contests.

Also, many global citizens have already enjoyed
Korean cultural contents of KOREA CONTENTS WEEK
by watching the videos from <Meet; Overseas KCC Festival>
featuring the KOREA CONTENTS WEEK ambassador and K-POP star Jeon Somi.

<Introduce; K-Heritage>, introducing videos that reinterpret
Korean traditional culture with three major cultural organizations of Korea

“Introduce; K-Heritage” includes online contents
that showcase Korean traditional culture by KOREA CONTENTS WEEK
and the Asia Culture Center, National Museum of Korea,
and Namwon National Gugak Center, which are known as
the three major cultural organizations of Korea.

Available on the official KOREA CONTENTS WEEK YouTube channel,
the videos are reinterpretations of Korean traditional culture
that may seem unfamiliar to foreigners.

1. Asia Culture Center – Goseong Ogwangdae Mask Dance
<BBRUN>, a Metaverse Immersive Theater

<BBRUN>, an amalgam of Korea’s most recent technology and traditional play,
is a metaverse immersive theater and a reinterpretation of the Goseong Ogwangdae mask dance,
which is a National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 7. <BBRUN>
tells the story of the three characters BiBi, BBRUN, and Maldukki,
who go on an adventure to save the deserted earth of the future.

The story teaches the importance of conserving nature,
while allowing the audience to experience
virtual reality (VR) and traditional Korean plays.
