K-POP artist Jeon Somi, who is also the ambassador for Korea Contents Week,
is loved by many fans around the world.
Hong Kong is known to be home to many Hallyu fans who love Korean dramas and K-POP.

In November, Korea Contents Week hosted the K-POP Dance Festival
just for the Hallyu fans of Hong Kong who were weary from COVID-19.

The festival invited K-POP cover dance teams in Hong Kong,
and a total of 15 teams joined to take us on a walk down K-POP memory lane.

The K-POP Dance Festival was a meaningful and enjoyable event
that was praised by K-POP fans in Hong Kong.

The Korea Contents Week X Hong Kong video features
our ambassador Jeon Somi who will be introducing a brief history of K-POP
by showing us some of the choreography moves of major idols from each generation of K-POP.

Those who have watched the video mentioned that Jeon Somi did an excellent job showing us the key moves of the older generation K-POP stars.

For fans in Hong Kong who love K-POP,
KOCOWEEK ambassador Jeon Somi has performed
“I’m Your Girl” by the first-generation K-POP group SES!

The first-generation K-POP stars were pioneers of the Hallyu Wave.
K-POP started to gain traction in some parts of East Asia after these stars took on the challenge of the foreign market and made great efforts.

Next, Jeon Somi showed us the perfect choreography for “Gee” by the second-generation K-POP group Girls’ Generation.

The second generation of K-POP was definitely one of the golden years of K-POP, as it was loved by Korea and other countries.
The most popular songs of this generation were songs that were easy to sing along with.

For third-generation K-POP, Jeon Somi showed us her own interpretation of “Ddu-du” by Blackpink!

Third-generation K-POP stars went beyond the Korean stage.
With multinational members, artists were able to achieve greater success even on the global stage.

The last choreography move is Somi’s own DUMB DUMB!
She has pulled off amazing moves confidently for her song.

Recently, we started to see more solo K-POP artists like Jeon Somi.

Did you enjoy learning about the history of K-POP with Jeon Somi, the best teacher of K-POP?
We hope this was a meaningful experience to learn that K-POP did not gain popularity easily.

The K-POP we know today is based on the tireless efforts made by K-POP artists up to now.
