KOREAN CULTURE SCENE <Korea-Thailand Culture Festival>
co-hosted by Korean Culture and Information Service and Korean Cultural Center in Thailand

To promote colorful Korean culture,
the Korean Culture Week is taking place all around Bangkok, Thailand
from September 24 to October 15
in celebration of the 10th anniversary of a strategic partnership between Korea and Thailand. 

The KOREAN CULTURE SCENE, Thailand
that shows both traditional and modern Korean culture
such as Hanbok, K-Pop, webtoon, Gugak, temple food, films, and Taekwondo

Today, let us introduce various Korean culture events one by one
that you can experience at the Korea X Thailand Culture Festival KOREAN CULTURE SCENE.


“War Veteran Webtoon released” on September 24

<One day, the leader of the idol group I loved went missing>,
a webtoon that was produced to commemorate the dedication of Thai war veterans
who engaged in the Korean War that took place in 1950 
by the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand and Kakao Webtoon
was released via the Kakao Webtoon Thailand App.

A lot of attention is being paid to
how Bangkok’s top plastic surgeon ‘Pim’ and K-Pop singer ‘Kei’
will portray stories about Korean culture and war veterans in the webtoon.

Don’t miss this war veteran webtoon that will be serialized every week
through the homepage and SNS of the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand! 


From September 29 to October 2,
a colorful Korea-Thailand Culture Festival is taking place
at the Future Park Rangsit Shopping Mall Special Event Hall.

The events include;
September 29 “Global Hanbok Model Contest Preliminary Round”
September 30 “Asia Model Festival”
October 1 “K-Pop Cover Dance Festival”
October 2 “Global Hanbok Model Contest Final Round”
October 2 “Hi Thailand, Sawatdee Korea”

Of special note on October 2, eleven Thai veterans who participated in the Korean War
will be presented with Hanboks to convey our humble appreciation to them and their descendants
for their dedication to the protection of Korea.

Also, the winner of the Hanbok Model Contest that is held in a bid to promote the beauty of Hanbok to people in Thailand will be presented not only with prize money but a Korea travel voucher to further raise interest in Korean culture.

“Buddhist Nun Jeong Kwan’s Alms-Bowl Meal Event” on October 3

At the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun) Bangkok,
Buddhist Nun Jeong Kwan, a master chef of temple food,
who is very well known thanks to the Netflix documentary ‘Chef’s Table’
will demonstrate the alms-bowl meal, a traditional dining ritual of Korean temples.

“Korea-Thailand Friendship Drone Show” on October 4

Come and Experience the modern technology of Korean and Thailand in the Korea-Thailand Friendship Drone Show that will beautifully cover the sky of Thailand near the Chao Phraya River.

“Regular Concert of Chung-Heung-Doong-Dang ” on October 6

Korea-Thailand traditional music club ‘Chung-Heung-Doong-Dang’ will stage various performances such as Gayageum, Danso, Sogeum, Samul Nori, and also Thai music played with traditional Korean musical instruments.


On October 7, “Bangkok Korean Film Festival held concurrently with Busan International Film Festival” holds an online talk with director Kim Han-min and actor Yohan Byun as well as the screening of the film ‘Hansan: Rising Dragon.’

The KOREAN CULTURE SCENE is holding various events and exhibitions related to K-webtoons from October 9, 2022 to January 31, 2023.

In the opening exhibition on October 10, you can meet Narak, the author of the webtoon ‘The Office Blind Date.’

Come and experience the allure of Korean webtoons in the “K-Webtoon Exhibition” that is held in the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand until January 31, 2023.

Lastly, “The 10th Royal Princess Cup Taekwondo Championship” is taking place in the Assumption University Suvarnabhumi Campus Gymnasium on October 15. 

It is a great opportunity to see the appeal of the traditional Korean martial art Taekwondo and appreciate the fantastic Taekwondo techniques demonstrated by the athletes.
