‘Korean Culture Scene,’ various events that happened around the world

 

‘Korean Culture Scene’ co-hosted by the Korean Culture and Information Service and the Korean Cultural Centers abroad!

This year, the Korean Culture Scene is taking place in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Centers in Vietnam, Hong Kong, the UK, Hungary, Belgium, and Thailand .

Various events tailored for each culture  by considering the most loved aspects of Korean culture in the local area have been organized for the festival.

Throughout the world, various events of the Korean Culture Scene already took place with huge success.

Let’s check out the events that have been held around the world. 


In Vietnam, Korean culture festivals with different themes have taken place in different provinces of Vietnam such as Binh Duong, Quang Nam, and Quang Ninh since February this year.

Also, the Korean Culture Scene’s touring exhibition <K-POP, Now Here> and the touring performance <Meet the World, Center of the World> held in October were successfully concluded with enthusiastic responses from the Vietnamese locals.

In Hungary, most of the festival programs that took place from August to October were about traditional Korean culture and designed to promote unique aspects of Korean culture.

The exhibition of traditional Korean crafts and the traditional performances that were put on in the Hungarian National Folk and Heritage Festival in August and the Korean Classic Days that took place from September to October under the theme of ‘Encounter between the past and the present: Beautiful companion’ and offered the audience the opportunity to experience and enjoy Korean music that interpreted tradition from contemporary perspectives attracted a lot of attention in Hungary.


In the UK, Korean culture festivals that promoted various aspects of Korean culture took place throughout the country.

The House Concert to commemorate the Korean War, Walking Tour, and Korean Culture Day were held in Belfast. There were also great opportunities to promote Korean culture in a comprehensive way through the events linked to international festivals such as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Stourbridge International Festival of Glass.

In London, the events linked to the Hallyu Exhibition at the V&A Museum have been happening since September to promote various aspects of Korean culture.

In Belgium, the <SOUND KOREA 2022> to promote various genres of Korean music and the events linked to the Korean film festival took place.

The concerts that were held in Belgium by Korean musicians such as Black Swan, Eun-mee Lee, Ali, LEENALCHI, and Malo received a lot of love and appreciation from the local audience.


In Thailand, cultural exchange activities in so many different areas such as K-Pop, webtoons, Buddhist ceremonies, and films are continuously taking place to promote the friendship between Korea and Thailand.

Various Korean culture events such as the 2022 Korea Week, the Korea-Thailand Culture Festival, and the Korean Culture Scene’s touring performance <Meet the World, Center of the World> were successfully wrapped up from September to October.

In Hong Kong, many Korean culture festivals promoting K-Pop are taking place.

Various Korean culture festivals such as the Korea Square and the Festive Korea that offer a great opportunity to experience many different aspects of Korea, and the K-Pop exhibition are surging in popularity.


There are many more events waiting for you that have been organized in collaboration between the Korean Cultural Centers in the five countries and one region  and the Korean Culture and Information Service’s Korean Culture Scene.
