Korean Culture Scene’s touring exhibition ‘K-Pop, Now Here’ in Hong Kong (November 18 –26)

The Korean Culture and Information Service’s Korean Culture Scene promotes Korean culture in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Centers abroad.

The Korean Culture Scene holds various Korean culture festivals around the world as well as promoting Korean culture contents that can be enjoyed online.

Among them, the key project of the Korean Culture Scene 2022 is its touring performance and exhibition.

In the midst of the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong holding a variety of festivals centered around K-Pop, the Korean Culture Scene’s touring exhibition <K-Pop, Now Here> has now come to Hong Kong!

The Korean Culture Scene’s touring exhibition <K-Pop, Now Here> that sheds light on over 50 years of K-Pop history is designed for the audience to enjoy K-Pop through various interactive contents.

The exhibition introduces the beginning of K-Pop from its origin to its past, present, and future around the three key words ‘MOVE, WAVE, CREATIVE.’

The exhibition <K-Pop, Now Here> allows the audience to enjoy K-Pop through interactive contents such as digital mapping, media art, and idol standees and experience its changes over time.

Come and check out everything about K-pop at the exhibition <K-Pop, Now Here> taking place at the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong from November 18 to 26.

The exhibition <K-Pop, Now Here> begins with the ‘Flexible Wave’ that shows the start of K-Pop in the 1950s to 1980s.

You can appreciate photos and videos that capture important moments of Korean popular music for each period while checking out what was happening in Korean history at those times.

The ‘Colorful Wave’ shows the full-scale growth of Korean pop music in the 1990s and 2000s.

You can see how the K-Pop fandom culture was created with the advent of idol groups such as ‘H.O.T’ and ‘Seotaiji and Boys’ and appreciate the performances of K-Pop singers who are currently gaining huge popularity such as ‘BTS’ and ‘Black Pink’ in interactive ways.

The exhibition <K-pop, Now Here> continues to the ‘Next Wave’ where you can witness the future of K-Pop communicating with future generations around the world and creating a new culture.

It was only possible for K-Pop to continue with its global growth up until now thanks to the foundation of communication between artists and their fans.

Please come and participate in the exhibition by displaying the ‘K-POP’ frame with the photos you take of the audience who are communicating through K-Pop in the exhibition <K-Pop, Now Here> that makes you feel as if you were in a concert!

The Korean Culture Scene’s touring exhibition <K-Pop, Now Here> is taking place in Hong Kong following the ones in Vietnam, Belgium, and Thailand.

The most popular part of the exhibition is the ‘Photo Zone.’
